Guidelines for Student Development, State University of Malang "Talent-Interests Area"This is published as a reference for organizing various activities to develop student talents at the department, faculty and university levels. With this guidebook, it is hoped that there will be continuous development of UM student activity programs starting from the department, faculty to university level. The continuity of this program of activities is considered very important because most programs for developing talents, especially arts and sports, are prestigious in nature, in the sense that there is a place for competition to achieve achievements at the national level and even to the ASEAN level.
This guide is an elaboration of the Student Development Patterns at State University of Malang, especially those related to the areas of talent-interests. Giving knowledge in the form of theory in a series of lecture activities is not sufficient to equip students / graduates to enter society. Apart from the academic skills developed through lectures, student creativity needs to be developed. This creativity will grow and develop if they get a sense of freedom and challenges to create, explore, experiment, so that a passionate curiosity is built. Talent-interest development activities can provide provisions for students such as discipline, honesty, leadership skills in addition to developing aesthetics and health.
To be able to channel and express students' curiosity and creativity, State University of Malang must facilitate students by preparing various development programs in the fields of talents and interests.
To all those who have contributed to the preparation of this Handbook, we would like to express our gratitude and highest appreciation.
Hopefully this Handbook will be useful in escorting UM students to become smart and competitive Indonesians.
